Washington,D.C.:Allan Lichtman, known for his accurate predictions of US presidential elections, has forecasted that Kamala Harris will win the 2024 presidential race. In a video for the New York Times, Lichtman, who has correctly predicted the outcomes of nine of the last ten presidential elections, stated that Harris will defeat former President Donald Trump and maintain Democratic control of the White House.
Allan Lichtman's "13 Keys to the White House" model evaluates the likelihood of an incumbent party's re-election based on various factors: whether the incumbent party gains House seats post-midterm, if the nomination is uncontested, if the sitting president represents the party, the absence of a strong third-party challenge, short-term economic stability, long-term economic growth, significant policy changes, social stability, lack of major scandals, success in foreign/military affairs, and the charisma of both the incumbent and challenger candidates.
Lichtman noted that Harris benefits from a lack of a strong third-party candidate, positive economic indicators, significant legislative achievements under the Biden administration, and the absence of social unrest or major scandals. Additionally, Harris did not face a significant party nomination contest as other candidates quickly endorsed her.
Lichtman concluded that even if some foreign policy keys were to turn negative, Harris would still have enough advantages to secure a victory over Trump.

ISLAMABAD: At least two more cases of poliovirus were reported in Pakistan, taking the number of infections to 52 so far this year, a report said on Friday.
“The Regional Reference Laboratory for Polio Eradication at the National Institute of Health has confirmed the detection of two more wild poliovirus type 1 (WPV1) cases in Pakistan," an official statement said.
The fresh infections — a boy and a girl — were reported from the Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.
“Genetic sequencing of the samples collected from the children is underway," the statement read. Dera Ismail Khan, one of the seven polio-endemic districts of southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, has reported five polio cases so far this year.
Of the 52 cases in the country this year, 24 are from Balochistan, 13 from Sindh, 13 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and one each from Punjab and Islamabad.
There is no cure for polio. Only multiple doses of the oral polio vaccine and completion of the routine vaccination schedule for all children under the age of five can keep them protected.
