Israeli officer killed in Hezbollah attack
Jerusalem: Itay Galea, 38, deputy company commander in the Israel army was fatally struck by a rocket in the Golan Heights during a massive attack by Hezbollah.
This retaliation came after Israel's targeted killing of Hezbollah leader Mohammad Naameh Nasser in Lebanon.
Hezbollah launched approximately 200 rockets, missiles, and drones into northern Israel, resulting in fears of an all-out war. Galea, a reservist officer, had previously served in the Gaza Strip and was deployed to northern Israel in anticipation of a potential conflict with Hezbollah.
This incident marks the 18th Israeli fatality since the border clashes between Hezbollah and Israel began in October 2023. Tensions have been escalating along the Lebanon-Israel border, with both sides exchanging rocket fire and military actions.

Hassan: Farmer killed in wild elephant attack
Hassan: A 65-year-old farmer was killed in a wild elephant attack in Belur taluk on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Raj shetty (65), a resident of Kanaguppe village.
According to police, the elephant, which was hiding in nearby bushes, suddenly attacked Raj shetty while he was on his way to work in his garden. The animal reportedly lifted him with its trunk and trampled him to death.
Forest department officials and police come to the spot upon receiving information and launched an operation to drive the elephant away.
The incident occurred within the limits of Arehalli police station.
