Rewari (PTI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday trained his guns on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, asking if he knew the full form of MSP as he underlined that the BJP government in Haryana was procuring 24 crops at the minimum support price.
Addressing a poll rally here, Shah also attacked the Congress on the issue of corruption, reservation and over Article 370, which he said, the Congress wants to bring it back.
Shah claimed the BJP will return to power in Haryana for third time after the October 5 polls.
Slamming the Congress on farmers' issue, he said some NGO has told Rahul 'baba' that by saying MSP (minimum support price) he will get votes.
"Rahul baba, do you know full form of MSP? Which crop is of Kharif, which one is of Rabi, do you know," he asked.
Shah said the BJP government in Haryana is procuring 24 crops at MSP. "Let Congress leaders in Haryana tell which Congress-ruled state procures as many crops."
Farmers may sow whatever they have to, it is the BJP government which procures the produce, he said.
"How many crops are bought at MSP in Karnataka and Telangana," he asked.
Shah reminded Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda that farmers used to be given Rs 2 cheque for crops damaged due to heavy rains.
During Congress rule, paddy was procured at Rs 1,310 per quintal, now it is Rs 2,300 and if you elect BJP government in Haryana, we will procure paddy at Rs 3,100 (per quintal), he said.
Bajra MSP used to be Rs 1,250 per quintal, which increased to Rs 2,625 under the BJP government, he said.
"When Congress was in power, they did not procure bajra," he said.
Shah said wheat MSP used to be Rs 1,450 per quintal, which increased to Rs 2,275 during BJP government's time and mustard which used to be at Rs 3,050 is now at Rs 5,650.
"How much paddy, wheat was procured by UPA," he asked.
Further attacking the Congress, Shah said it was the Narendra Modi government which fulfilled the long pending demand of One Rank One Pension.
Shah said the BJP undertook equitable development in Haryana and corruption has finished in the last 10 years.
"Congress governments used to run on the basis of cut, commission and corruption while dealers, dalals (middlemen) and 'damads' used to rule.
Under BJP government, there are no dealers, 'dalals' while there is no question of 'damad'," the senior BJP leader said.
On OROP, he said, "from Indira Gandhi to Sonia Gandhi, Congress did not fulfill the demand of one rank one pension, but you made Modi Prime Minister and he gave OROP in 2015".
"Congress always insults Army. It is the Congress which had the audacity to call Army chief a 'goonda'. Congress never respected Army," he said.
They are spreading misconception that those Agniveers who will not be absorbed will be left like that, he said attacking Congress.
"Haryanawalo, I make this promise, not even one Agniveer (who will not be absorbed in the force) will be without pensionable job, this is BJP's promise," he said.
"Rahul Baba has no other work than to spread rumour," he said, in an obvious reference to Congress raking up the Agniveer issue.
Amit Shah lashed out at Rahul Gandhi over the issue of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, alleging that he wanted to bring it back.
"Whether Jammu and Kashmir is our own or not. Should Article 370 have been scrapped or not? Rahul Baba has said there that they will bring back Article 370. Rahul Baba I am saying from this land of (legendary Ahir leader) Rao Tula Ram that not only you, even your third generation cannot bring back Article 370," he said.
Kashmir is our own and nobody can dare look at it, he added. In his earlier rallies too in Haryana for next month's polls, Shah has been attacking Congress over Article 370 issue.
"They say that they will release all terrorists and stone-pelters from jail. 'Kya mazaak bana rakha hai'. 40,000 people were killed in Jammu and Kashmir. Our army men were martyred. And you will release them (terrorists)? Rahul Baba, if you have guts, then say this in Haryana, he said.
Shah said, "Along with the National Conference, he says, not tricolour, but some other flag will be unfurled at Kashmir. Rahul Baba that time has gone. It is the rule of Modi ji and only tricolor will be hoisted in Kashmir," he said.
Further lashing out at the grand old party, Shah said the Congress party, in greed of vote bank, is indulged in appeasement.
Attacking Rahul Gandhi over the Ram Mandir issue, he said the Congress leader's four generations kept Ram Lalla idol in a tent.
"It was only Modi ji who built the Ram Temple," he said.
Referring to Rahul Gandhi's recent US visit, Shah said whenever he wants to say anything "rubbish" 'ool jalool''he says in America.
Shah accused Rahul of saying that he would end reservation of SC, ST and OBC.
"They accuse us of ending the reservation and he (Rahul) spoke in English there (in US) that they will end the reservation," he said.
"How will you do it? It is our government. So long as there is even one BJP MP in Parliament, reservation of Dalits and backward people cannot end," asserted Shah.
Gandhi during his interaction with students of Georgetown University in the US had told the students that the Congress would think of scrapping reservations when "India is a fair place", which he said is not the case right now.
Shah accused the Congress of insulting B R Ambedkar and alleged that it did not allow Bharat Ratna to be given him and also did not even build a memorial for him.
They used to deprive people of jobs by claiming "not found for suitable" in the reservation category, he said as he targeted the previous Congress government in Haryana.
"We brought all backward castes into the reservation. We raised the creamy layer ceiling," he said.
Lashing out at the previous Congress regime over the issue of corruption in government jobs, Shah said, "'dalal' (middlemen) and dealers used to give appointment letters", while jobs have been given on merit during BJP rule.
He alleged that the Congress cannot undertake equitable development in Haryana.
Whenever Congress wins, development takes place only in a few districts, while there is "injustice" with the Ahirwal belt, he claimed.
On bringing new projects in Rewari if his party is voted to power in Haryana, Shah said a cooperative factory of mustard oil will be set up in Rewari.
A museum in the memory of martyrs including Rao Tula Ram will be set up, he said.
A Vishavkarma university will be set up and a new medical college will also be set up in Rewari, he said.
Mahila chaupal will come up in every village, he said, adding that 'akhadas' for wrestling sport will also be set up.
He also spoke about his party's poll promises including Rs 2,100 per month for women under Lado Lakshmi scheme, cooking gas cylinders at Rs 500, free dialysis facility in all government hospitals and five lakh houses for the poor, he said.
Shah also raised the issue of some rebels contesting as independents by breaking the party discipline and appealed to the people of Rewari to vote only for candidates who have the BJP symbol.
He appealed to people to make BJP candidates Laxman Yadav (Rewari), Krishan Kumar (Bawal) Anil Yadav (Kosli) victorious in the polls.
Union Minister and Gurugram Rao Inderjit Singh was also present in the rally.

Ranchi (PTI): A 25-year-old man, who works as a butcher, allegedly strangled to death his live-in partner and chopped her body into 40 to 50 pieces in a forested area in Jharkhand’s Khunti district, police said on Wednesday.
The accused, identified as Naresh Bhengra, was arrested.
The matter came to light after around a fortnight after the killing when a stray dog was found with human body parts near Jordag village in Jariagarh police station on November 24.
Bhengra was in a live-in relationship with the deceased, a 24-year-old woman also from Khunti district, in Tamil Nadu for the past couple of years. Sometime back, he returned to Jharkhand, got married to another woman without telling his partner anything and went back to the southern state without his wife to join her.
"The brutal incident occurred on November 8 when they reached Khunti as the accused who had married another woman did not wish to take her home. Instead, he took her to a forest near his house at Jordag village in Jariagarh police station and chopped the body into pieces. The man has been arrested," Khunti Superintendent of Police Aman Kumar told PTI.
Inspector Ashok Singh who investigated the case said the man worked in a butcher shop in Tamil Nadu and was expert in slicing chicken.
“He admitted chopping the body parts of the woman into 40 to 50 pieces before leaving those in the forest for wild animals to feast on. The police recovered several parts on November 24 after a dog in the area was seen with a hand," Singh told PTI.
Singh said that the woman, who was unaware of his marriage, pressured him to return to Khunti. After reaching Ranchi, they boarded a train on November 24 and headed to the man's village.
"Under a plan, the man took her to Khunti in an autorickshaw near his home and asked her to wait. He returned with sharp weapons and strangulated her with her dupatta after raping her. He then cut the body into 40 to 50 pieces and left for his home to live with his wife," Singh said.
The woman, however, had informed her mother that she had boarded a train and would be living with her partner, the police officer said.
Following the recovery of body parts, a bag was also found in the forest with the murdered woman's belongings including her Aadhaar card. The mother of the woman was called at the spot and she identified her daughter's belongings.
"The mother suspected the man behind the crime who after being nabbed by the police admitted to chopping the woman into pieces," the official added.
The incident has sent shockwaves among people in the region, with the Shraddha Walker murder case of 2022 still fresh in their memory.
Walker was killed by her live-in partner who chopped her body into pieces before dumping them in the jungle in South Delhi’s Mehrauli.
