Thiruvananthapuram: The Central government has once again imposed restrictions on Kerala’s ‘Media One’ news channel by issuing orders of blocking the channels broadcast.

The Centre had earlier imposed similar restrictions on the channel which were later withdrawn, only to be reposed yet again.

The Centre has reportedly cited security reasons as the cause behind the restriction on the channel’s broadcasting, however, the Media One Channel has informed that the department has not presented any conclusive reason before them in this regard.

The channel emphasized that they would be undertaking a legal struggle against this move and they expect that justice will be served and Media One will once again be able to broadcast, the press statement released by Media One’s editor Pramod Raman added.

“It is not surprising that the central government has undertaken such a move against Media One Channel, a media that states the truth and is not under any political party”, viewers, admirers of the channel have expressed on social media sites.

On March 6, 2020, Media One and Asianet News broadcasting were temporarily restricted. After widespread protests, they were later allowed to broadcast again.
