Government has no concern for the poor, they have announced package under pressure: D.K. Shivakumar
Bengaluru: KPCC President, D.K Shivakumar expressed his disbelief in the government’s special package and said, “I don’t believe in the package announced by the state government. A package was announced even last time. Let them show accounts of people who have received relief.”
Speaking to the media persons in the city, he said, “The package does not offer anything to the unorganized, rural sector, or the farmers. Even building labourers have not been offered anything. If they are giving, let them give systematically”, he said.
“Because we pressurized them to announce a package, this package has been announced, whereas the fact is they did not announce this to genuinely reach the affected people”, he outraged.
“There is only dilemma around the distribution of ration. The method of announcing the relief itself is a complete failure. Before announcing the package, did he conduct a meeting with the bankers?” DKShi questioned, and criticized that the government does not care about the poor.

Woman Police Commissioner goes undercover to assess women's safety in Hyderabad
Hyderabad (PTI): Soon after taking over as Malkajgiri Police Commissioner B Sumathi went undercover and took up a field visit after midnight on May 1 to assess law and order, including women's safety.
Sumathi assumed charge as the Malkajgiri Police Commissioner on May 1.
On the same night, the senior IPS officer, in plainclothes, moved through the streets of Dilsukhnagar here, standing alone for some time to get a first-hand knowledge of law and order situation, official sources said on Wednesday.
"It was a general checking and she later interacted with police officials," they said.
The sources said about 30-40 individuals who approached her were counselled regarding their behaviour towards women in public places.
Sumathi, who earlier headed the Special Intelligence Branch (SIB), of the Telangana Police, oversaw the long drawn process of the Maoists joining the mainstream.
