Mumbai, Jun 19: Budget carrier IndiGo on Monday announced placing a firm order for 500 narrow-body planes with Airbus.

Currently, IndiGo operates more than 300 aircraft. It has previous orders totalling 480 aircraft, which are yet to be delivered.

"With this additional firm order of 500 aircraft for 2030-2035, IndiGo's order book has almost 1,000 aircraft yet to be delivered well into the next decade," the airline said in a release.

The IndiGo order book comprises a mix of A320 NEO, A321 NEO and A321 XLR aircraft.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Thursday lashed out at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, calling his remarks on hate and division "political black comedy at its darkest."

Responding to Adityanath’s statement in an interview with ANI, where he accused Stalin of creating divisions based on region and language, the Tamil Nadu CM said that BJP had been "rattled" by Tamil Nadu’s firm stance on the two-language policy and fair delimitation.

Stalin has also strongly opposed the implementation of the three-language formula under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020."And now Hon'ble Yogi Adityanath wants to lecture us on hate? Spare us. This isn't irony, it's political black comedy at its darkest," Stalin posted on social media.

Stalin reiterated that Tamil Nadu’s opposition is against "language imposition" and "chauvinism," not any specific language, emphasizing that the issue is a fight for dignity and justice.
