Prominent journalist Ravish Kumar has responded to the disturbing incident in Uttar Pradesh where a teacher allegedly encouraged Hindu students to beat a Muslim classmate. Kumar took to Twitter to express his concern and urge action against such incidents that promote communal hatred among children.
In a tweet, Kumar initially shared his reaction to the incident: "I have removed the earlier tweet to avoid revealing the identity of the child. The parents of the small child who gets up and beats a Muslim child of his own age at the behest of teacher Trupti Tyagi should come forward and file a case that Trupti Tyagi is making their innocent child a rioter in the name of a Hindu."
He highlighted the grave consequences of such actions, stating, "Communalism turns children into human bombs. How the child who has been beaten will spend his life with this trauma is a matter to think about. May all of our love reach him."
Kumar also extended his concern for the child who was seemingly influenced by the teacher's divisive instruction: "May the love of all of us reach the child in whose mind the teacher has filled the poison of hatred so that he comes out of this hatred and doesn't become a rioter."
Kumar then underscored the significance of parental vigilance in such situations: "Parents must remain alert and aware of the insidious attempts to mold their children into agents of hatred under the guise of anti-Muslim sentiment."
Further commenting on the influence of media and hate-filled content, Kumar observes: "The creators of divisive content have consistently bombarded us with anti-Muslim narratives for an extended period. However, their lives continue without disruption, complete with their luxury cars. This appalling business of propagating hatred has generated substantial financial gains."
