Nagarkurnool (Telangana) (PTI): The search operation to locate seven persons trapped inside the partially collapsed SLBC tunnel here continued at a rapid pace on the 24th day on Monday.
The officials were trying to expedite the search operation at the 'D1 and D2' points identified for possible human presence by increasing the number of rescue personnel.
Personnel from South Central Railway, NDRF, SDRF, state-run miner Singareni Collieries, rat miners and others were carrying out the search operation with the necessary equipment, an official release said on Sunday.
It said advanced technologies are being used in the search operation and inputs from experts of different fields are also being taken, it said.
The body of Gurpreet Singh, who worked as a TBM operator, was recovered on March 9 and handed over to his family members in Punjab.
Seven others are still trapped inside the tunnel.
Totally eight individuals—comprising engineers and labourers—got trapped in the SLBC project tunnel after a portion of it collapsed on February 22.

Hyderabad (PTI): Soon after taking over as Malkajgiri Police Commissioner B Sumathi went undercover and took up a field visit after midnight on May 1 to assess law and order, including women's safety.
Sumathi assumed charge as the Malkajgiri Police Commissioner on May 1.
On the same night, the senior IPS officer, in plainclothes, moved through the streets of Dilsukhnagar here, standing alone for some time to get a first-hand knowledge of law and order situation, official sources said on Wednesday.
"It was a general checking and she later interacted with police officials," they said.
The sources said about 30-40 individuals who approached her were counselled regarding their behaviour towards women in public places.
Sumathi, who earlier headed the Special Intelligence Branch (SIB), of the Telangana Police, oversaw the long drawn process of the Maoists joining the mainstream.
