SC refuses to interfere with HC order quashing TN pollution board's notices against Isha Foundation

The Supreme Court on Friday refused to interfere with the Madras High Court order quashing notices of the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board against Jaggi Vasudev's Isha Foundation over construction of buildings in the foothills of Velliangiri mountains without prior environmental clearance.


57 labourers trapped under avalanche in Uttarakhand, 16 rescued

Forty-one BRO workers were trapped under an avalanche near the high altitude border village of Mana in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district on Friday, officials said. The snowslide had initially buried 57 men but 16 were rescued.
