Chandrayaan-3 initiates descent for soft landing on lunar South Pole

In a significant step towards India's lunar exploration ambitions, the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft has commenced its powered descent with the aim of achieving a soft landing on the lunar south pole. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) confirmed that the spacecraft's descent phase is underway as it inches closer to touching down on the lunar surface.
