Three soldiers die after slipping into deep gorge along LoC in Kashmir

Three soldiers, including a junior commissioned officer (JCO), died after they slipped into a deep gorge during patrolling along the Line of Control in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, the Army said on Wednesday.


Bhopal gas tragedy: SC says Centre can't reopen settlement after 30 years

The Supreme Court Tuesday pulled up the Centre for pursuing its curative plea seeking an additional Rs 7,844 crore from successor firms of Union Carbide Corporation (UCC) for giving compensation to the victims of the Bhopal gas tragedy, saying the court is bound by 'maryada' of jurisdiction and the government cannot reopen a settlement arrived at with the company after over 30 years.
