Bantwal: Residents of Pratap Nagar in Kadeshivalaya in Bantwal Taluk have reported that miscreants on Sunday night pelted stones at their houses. The residents claimed that the incident took place when the miscreants were returning after lighting Diyas and Candles.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had instructed the citizens of this country to light candles, flashlights and Diyas to show solidarity and collective resolution in fight against coronavirus.

The incident reportedly took place after people had gathered in obedience to PM Modi’s call and were returning after lighting candles and flashlights. The houses which were pelted stones at belong to a particular minority community.

Locals soon informed police about the incident. Bantwal Rural Police personnel reached the spot and took stock of things and instructed the residents to file a complaint in this regard on Monday morning.

Bengaluru: In a recent incident near the Vidhana Soudha, Bailahongala MLA Mahantesh Kaujalagi was involved in a car accident. The mishap occurred as the MLA was departing from the MLA's House and was struck by a polo vehicle while exiting the Vidhana Soudha premises.

Fortunately, the MLA sustained only minor injuries in the collision. Following the accident, Kaujalagi was immediately transported to the hospital in another vehicle for medical attention.

The incident happened within the jurisdiction of the Cubbon Park Traffic Police Station.
