Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada BJP Unit, on Monday organised a condemnation meet against the dastardly Pulwama attack, earlier last week that killed 44 CRPF soldiers and injured several others.

The event was organised outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office, and was attended by several party leaders of Dakshina Kannada, including MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.

The event began, with several anti-Pakistan slogans . While addressing the event, ex-MLC Monappa Bhandary questioned the move by police for restricting them from anti-Pakistan sloganeering.

“Why are we being asked to not speak about Pakistan, even when we know what they’ve done?” He went on and while pointing at officers present at the event for security, asked them “Don’t you have love for the country in your hearts? You say law and order situation will arise if we speak against Pakistan, if it happens, then what are you for? Has our police department become coward that they are afraid of some Pakistani agents who call themselves secular and speak in favor of Pakistan?”

“We don’t want such police department, we are enough to handle these people who speak in support of Pakistan, and we can protect our Motherland from such goons, better than coward police department” Monappa added.

“These  so called secular people are questioning, what Narendra Modi has done after the attack, I want to make it clear that, Narendra Modi has done, that was never done before”. Taking a dig at former India cricketer and Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, without naming him, Monappa said “Those who say that the Pakistan PM was a cricketer and their friend, and speak in favor of Pakistan, they have no place in India, they should go to Pakistan along with their other such agent”.

Moodabidri MLA, Umanath Kotian in his address expressed his solidarity with the martyred soldiers and called on all those who were present at the event to maintain one minute of silence in martyrs’ solidarity. He then added that the citizens of this country have absolute faith in Narendra Modi, and will stand by the Prime Minister’s side for any retaliation action he plans.

Pratap Simha Nayak, while addressing the event questioned the special status and treatment to the Kashmir and called for abolition of Article 370A to give the Government of India, absolute powers in the state.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Sullia MLA Angara S, Dakshina Kannada BJP Mahila Morcha President Pooja Pai, Captain Brijesh Chowta, and Harikrishna Bantwal also spoke at the event and expressed the ‘cowardly and dastardly’ attack in Pulwama while also expressing their faith in Narendra Modi government for a strong, surgical strike like retaliation to the Pakistan.
