Karwar: Five COVID-19 patients who were admitted to the INS Patanjali Hospital in Naval Base have been released on Tuesday. The district administration has decided to keep them at a quarantine center in Bhatkal, said Deputy Commissioner Harish Kumar K.

Bhatkal's COVID-19 patients have recovered quickly as they appropriately responded to the treatment. As per government's procedure those who get discharged after recovery would be kept in isolation for a few days, he added.

A total of 9 people who returned from abroad and their contacts were infected with COVID-19. All of them were from Bhatkal and were admitted to the Navy Hospital in Karawar for treatment. Two of the 9 infected people had recovered earlier. Now the other five have been discharged. An infected woman has been admitted to the Udupi hospital for treatment as she is pregnant and she is also recovering, DC Harish Kumar informed.

Jammu (PTI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Jammu on Friday night ahead of the hectic day-long campaigning on Saturday during which he will address five public rallies in three districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Shah arrived here from Delhi and drove straight to the State Guest house, a senior BJP leader said.

Shah will fly to Poonch early tomorrow morning and address the first of four rallies in Mendhar followed by Surankote in Poonch district, he added.

Shah is scheduled to address rallies in Thanamandi and Rajouri followed by Akhnoor in Jammu.

He is also expected to hold a rally in the Nowshera constituency in support of Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Ravinder Raina on Sunday.
