'Alvas Nudisiri' Sufi seminar on spiritual heritage
Moodabidri, Nov 17: Senior writer, thinker, and critic Ramzan Darga said that there would be no other great text in the world if the scriptures of Sufi saints of Karnataka were translated into English.
He was speaking in a seminar held during Alvas Nudisiri at the Ratnakar Vedike in St. Shishunala Sharif Hall in Moodabidri.
If Sufi legacy is on peace, love and human values; sharanas believe that mercy is the source of religion. Sufis revolted against the inequality in society, such as mastery, untouchability, and poverty.
The real meaning of the word Sufi could only be understood after understanding the 1660 years ago's Jain movement. All the rulers in the country run their sovereignty over the principles of peace, love and humanity, the source of the Sufi legacy.
"Prophet Muhammad had said " I am not in India but India is in me. I am in the Arab but the Arab is not in me. The Prophet has been described in the Hadith that the cool winds blow from India. Prophet Muhammad had described 1400 years ago that India is the land of peace," explained Darga.

UAE issues fresh emergency alert, says situation currently safe
Dubai/Abu Dhabi: Residents and visitors across the United Arab Emirates received a fresh emergency alert on their mobile phones stating that the situation in the country is currently safe.
The message, issued by the Ministry of Interior (MOI), thanked people for their cooperation and reassured them that conditions were stable.
“Thank you for your cooperation. We reassure you that the situation is currently safe. You may resume your normal activities while continuing to remain cautious and take the necessary precautions, and to follow official instructions. (MOI),” the alert read.
The notification was sent in both Arabic and English through the country’s emergency alert system.
The advisory comes after earlier alerts warning of potential missile threats amid rising regional tensions. Authorities have urged the public to stay cautious and follow official guidance.
