Mangaluru City Police Commissioner TR Suresh transferred
Mangaluru: The state government has issued an order to transfer Mangaluru City Police Commissioner TR Suresh. Sandeep Patil has been appointed for his position.
The state government has issued the transfer ordered of TR Suresh as a part of the police officers transfer ahead of Lok Sabha elections.
The newly appointed Commissioner Sandeep Patil, is currently serving as DIG assistant commissioner of Bengaluru CAR unit.
Besides this, the state government has issued transfer orders to 30 other IPS officers with immediate effect.

Karnataka to introduce 2% reservation for sportspersons across departments, says CM Siddaramaiah
Belagavi (Suvarna Vidhana Soudha): Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced that the state government will implement reservation quotas to encourage sportspersons, including 3% in the Forest Department, 3% in the Police Department, and 2% across various other departments.
Responding to a question raised by Congress MLC Ivan D’Souza during the Question Hour in the Legislative Council on Thursday, the Chief Minister said the state has already appointed 13 athletes who won medals in the Olympics, Paralympics, Commonwealth Games and Asian Games. In the Police Department, direct appointments have been made for 70 constables and 14 Police Sub-Inspectors, he stated.

Siddaramaiah said that the new reservation measures, 3% in the Forest Department, 3% in the Police Department and 2% in other departments, are aimed at further encouraging sportspersons. He added that the government will also study possibilities for providing greater support to the sport of Kabaddi.
