Mangaluru: Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC President Dinesh Gundurao along with other local Congress leaders released the party’s manifesto for the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Election that is scheduled to be held on November 14.

Siddaramaiah while speaking during the event added that the allegation being made by the BJP that Congress had not initiated any developmental work in Mangaluru during its regime, were false and noted that the saffron party was known for speaking such lies every time.

The party’s manifesto has nine promises that Siddaramaiah added will all be fulfilled if Congress is voted to power. He however added that he was confident that the party will swipe the elections of MCC.

Among the promises made in manifesto providing water facilities, drainage under ADB Project and construction of roads and footpaths has been prioritized followed by construction of underpass and railway crossing, vehicle parking facilities, construction of circles and bus stand.

Scientific disposal of waste also finds a place in the party’s manifesto which also promises new measures for improving healthcare system in the city.

The manifesto also promises improving tourism in the city while also upgrading the local markets. Among others promises are Development of port and upgrading of fisheries department, E-governance and administrative changes and housing facilities.

MLA UT Khader, former MLAs J R Lobo, Mohiuddin Bava and Ramanath Rai along with MLC Ivan D’Souza and Harish Kumar were present during the event.

New Delhi (PTI): At least 10 flights were cancelled and more than 270 flights were delayed at the Delhi airport due to fog and low visibility conditions on Tuesday.

An official said 6 arrivals and 4 departures have been cancelled for the day.

Over 270 flights have been delayed and the average delay time for departures is 29 minutes, as per information available on flight tracking website Flightradar24.com.

"Visibility at the airport is improving; however, flight departures for certain destinations may experience delay," Delhi airport operator DIAL said in a post on X.

The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in the national capital handles around 1,300 flight movements daily.
