Mangaluru: Renowned educationist and businessman Dr. CA. Adige Raghavendra Rao (88), founder of the Srinivas Group of Institutions, passed away on Tuesday night.

Dr. Rao founded the A. Shama Rao Foundation in 1988 and played a key role in developing the Srinivas Group of Colleges into one of the prominent educational institutions in the state.

Srinivas College of Hotel Management, which began with just seven students, later expanded into a group offering several professional and higher education courses.

In 1980, he also established a three-star vegetarian hotel named ‘Srinivas’. Over the years, he received several honours, including the Karnataka Rajyotsava District Award in 2004, in recognition of his contributions to education and social service.

He is survived by his wife Vijayalakshmi, daughter Padmini, son Srinivas, and four grandchildren.

Amethi (UP) (PTI): The body of a 45-year-old man was found hanging from a tree in a field here on Wednesday, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Ram Shiromani Yadav, a resident of Parsawan village.

Family members took the body to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Amethi before informing authorities.

Amethi Station House Officer Ravi Singh said the body has been sent for post-mortem examination and legal proceedings are underway.

"The exact cause of death will be ascertained after the postmortem report is received," he said.
