Milad holiday on Tuesday in D.K.: Minister UT Khader
Mangaluru, November 18: As the Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad is going to celebrate on November 20 in Dakshina Kannada district, the government holiday would be declared on that day in the district, said District Minister UT Khader.
Though the government holiday was declared on November 21 for the Milad, the celebration would be held in Dakshina Kannada district on November 20. In view of this, he has appealed the Chief Minister to declare the holiday on November 20 to all the schools and colleges and government offices and consider November 21 as the working day. In turn, the Chief Minister has directed the Chief Secretary of the Government to take action in this regard. On Monday, a government order to this effect would be announced, the Minister said.

UAE issues fresh emergency alert, says situation currently safe
Dubai/Abu Dhabi: Residents and visitors across the United Arab Emirates received a fresh emergency alert on their mobile phones stating that the situation in the country is currently safe.
The message, issued by the Ministry of Interior (MOI), thanked people for their cooperation and reassured them that conditions were stable.
“Thank you for your cooperation. We reassure you that the situation is currently safe. You may resume your normal activities while continuing to remain cautious and take the necessary precautions, and to follow official instructions. (MOI),” the alert read.
The notification was sent in both Arabic and English through the country’s emergency alert system.
The advisory comes after earlier alerts warning of potential missile threats amid rising regional tensions. Authorities have urged the public to stay cautious and follow official guidance.
