Puttur: Police on Tuesday night arrested accused in the Kuriya Double Murder case of a couple wherein another woman had sustained serious injuries. The accused has also confessed to the crime, police sources informed on Wednesday.
The arrested accused has been identified as Karim Khan (39).
According to police, Karim entered the house of Koggu Saheb, with the intention of robbery late on Monday night. When he attacked the people in the house when he was spotted by them. Karim killed the couple fearing the family would complain the incident to the police. Karim was also reportedly acquaintance of the family and hence was afraid that his identity would be revealed.
After being spotted, Karim assaulted Koggu Saheb, his wife Khatijamma and granddaughter Sabiha Banu with a knife from the kitchen. Koggu Saheb and Sabiha Banu died on the spot while Khatijamma sustained serious injuries and is being treated in a hospital.
Karim has also revealed about his financial transactions with Koggu Saheb which are being investigated by the police team.
Police have recovered 30 grams gold and six thousand rupees from Karim. People lauded police who cracked the case inside 24-hours.

Bengaluru: Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge has alleged involvement of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in a money transfer network at global level.
Posting his allegation on his personal ‘X’ account on Saturday morning, Kharge said that he was referring to an issue that had not been dealt with decisively by Indian media houses.
“Here is a crucial story that the Indian media will never touch,” the minister has said, and clarified, “This so-called “body of individuals” has built a global network of over 2,500 affiliated organisations. Through these fronts, the RSS collects “guru dakshina” to fuel its divisive agenda. (sic)”
Kharge has further alleged, “The world’s largest NGO is running amok, laundering money and evading accountability.”
