Brahmavar: In an incident that occurred on Tuesday, two individuals including a minor boy died after drowning in the lake they had gone swimming in at Uggel Bettu Madisaalu.
The deceased youngsters have been identified as Shreyas (18), son of Chanthaaru resident Uday Kumar and Anas (16), a resident of Svarnanagar Sunshine Building in Varamballi. The duo had gone swimming at the lake with their friend named Sanjay on the afternoon of October 19. While Sanjay was swimming close to the shore, Shreyas and Anas had ventured further into the middle of the lake. It is learned that both the youngsters had drowned and gone missing in that instance.
Sanjay who witnessed the drowning had hidden this fact out of fear. After learning about the disappearance of the youngsters in the evening, the families of the missing boys, along with the locals and Fire Brigade services began a search operation. The missing boys were not found even then. When the search was continued during Wednesday morning, around 10.30 am, the bodies of both the youngsters were found near the Herur Railway Bridge, it is learned.
The Fire Brigade personnel along with diving expert Eeshwar Malpe reportedly participated in the search.
A case has been registered at the Brahmavar police station in this regard.

Mumbai (PTI): The traffic on Mumbai-Pune Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway will be temporarily diverted for a few hours on April 23 and 24 on account of bridge maintenance work.
In a release issued on Tuesday, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) said the block is planned from 12 am to 3 pm on April 23 and 24, for removal of shuttering and painting work on a bridge located near Dongargaon-Kusgaon.
Traffic towards Mumbai will remain completely closed in the section on April 23 during the three hours long block. Vehicles will be diverted via the Kiwale-Dehu Road-Talegaon route onto National Highway 48 and rejoin at Kusgaon toll plaza.
Similarly, traffic towards Pune will be shut on April 24 from 12 pm to 3 pm, and vehicles will be diverted from Kusgaon toll plaza via National Highway 48 through the Dehu Road-Kiwale route.

Mumbai-Pune Expressway is the first access controlled Expressway of India.
