The woman named Aparna Nagaraj Shet (39) jumped into a well near her home, an area which is dominated by Muslims to commit suicide. But the construction workers who noticed her jumping, called the local youth for help.

In what can be called a show of bravery and humanity, a youth Ibrahim Bavala, of Maghdoom colony, with the permission from the police, went down into the well and rescued the woman.

Later, the police admitted the woman to the government hospital and registered a case.

Locals were of the opinion that, had the woman committed suicide without anyone noticing, it would have given communal color by miscreants and would cause tension in the region. They thanked God that it didn't happen and instead a Muslim youth saved her, which now will make things easier between the two communities.
