Bengaluru: A 6-year-old girl’s dead body was found under mysterious circumstances at the KSR railway station, Majestic on Wednesday morning.

According to the police, the girl was murdered and her body was later dumped near the parking space of the Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna Bengaluru city Junction railway station.

The girl’s identity is yet to be ascertained, further investigation is underway, said the Bengaluru Division Railway Police.

Based on information provided by locals on Wednesday morning, the railway police visited the location, conducted an inspection, and found that the body had been brought from another place and dumped there. A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team visited the scene to conduct an investigation.

State Railway Officer Dr. Soumyalatha SK stated, "Nobody was found beside the dead girl. However, a local mentioned that he noticed the girl engaged in begging. It cannot be determined immediately whether the girl was sexually assaulted. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and the details will be known after the report is received. A case has been lodged at Bengaluru central Railway Police Station, and are investigating the matter.”

Chennai (PTI): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Saturday expressed shock over the murder of Bahujan Samaj Party Tamil Nadu president K Armstrong and said those involved in his killing have been arrested in a midnight operation.

The chief minister said he was shocked and anguished over Armstrong's death.

The 52-year-old BSP leader was hacked to death by a six-member bike borne gang near his house in Perambur here on Friday.

"The police have arrested those involved in his murder in an overnight operation," Stalin said in a post on 'X'.

The chief minister said he had ordered the police to conduct the investigation expeditiously and ensure that the culprits are punished according to law.

"I would like to convey my deepest condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family and friends," he said.

At least eight suspects have been secured in connection with the murder of the BSP state president, a senior police official said.

The police have formed 10 teams to crack the case, Asra Garg, Additional Commissioner (North) told reporters late on Friday.
