Bengaluru: The State Meteorological Department has issued a forecast stating that coastal districts in Karnataka can expect heavy rainfall for a span of three days, starting from June 9. This prediction is attributed to a drop in air pressure in the Arabian Sea.

During the period from June 9 to June 11, districts such as Uttara Kannada, Udupi, and Dakshina Kannada, located along the coastal region, are likely to experience substantial rainfall. Additionally, the southern hinterland districts can anticipate widespread rain, while the northern interior districts can expect moderate rainfall, as per the Meteorological Department's predictions.

Considering the possibility of storms in the coastal districts, fishermen are advised to refrain from venturing into the sea for fishing activities. It is also recommended that tourists and children avoid visiting the beaches during this period. Furthermore, the interior parts of the state are expected to witness winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 kmph.
