BJP leading on nine seats in Karnataka in postal ballot counting; Congress leading on two
Bengaluru: The voting for Lok Sabha Election results began in Karnataka with the counting of postal ballot with BJP leading on 9 seats, Congress leading on 2, JD(S) leading on 1 while Independent candidate leading on 1 seat.
Youth Congress leader and Congress candidate from Dakshina Kannada, Mithun Rai and Independent candidate from Mandya Sumalatha Ambareesh have been reportedly leading the counting.
Davangere BJP Candidate G M Siddeshwar, Anna Saheb in Chikkodi and Devendrappa in Bellary are also leading the counting.
BJP’s Shobha Karandlaje from Udupi-Chikkamagaluru is also reported leading whereas Congress’ DK Suresh in Bengaluru rural is leading.

Unidentified men fire at Congress candidate Gurjeet Aujila’s rally in Amritsar
Amritsar: Unidentified individuals opened fire at the youth who were on their way to the rally for Gurjeet Singh Aujila, the Congress candidate for Amritsar parliamentary constituency, at Ajnala on Saturday afternoon. One youth was injured in the firing, reported Amar Ujala.
The miscreants reportedly fled the scene after the incident, taking advantage of the huge gathering. Meanwhile, Aujila has alleged the role of AAP leader Kuldeep Dhaliwali’s relatives in the firing incident. Local police have visited the scene and an investigation is in progress.
