BS Yediyurappa visits his birthplace after assuming CM's office; seeks blessing from seer
Bengaluru: BJP State President BS Yedyurappa after assuming office of the CM of Karnataka on Friday, visited his birthplace Bookanakere in Mandya District on Saturday and paid visits to temples while also seeking blessings of the seer here.
Yedyurappa has called for confidence motion to prove majority in the assembly on Monday morning.
During his visit to Bookarakere Yedyurappa was accompanied by MP BY Raghuvendra, MLA Basavaraj Bomayya and others.
The security in Bookanakere was beefed up ahead of Yediyurappa’s visit in the town with one SP, two DySP, five inspectors, 15 sub-inspectors two KSRP and 3 DAR battalions deployed in the town.

Karkala: Lorry transporting stone overturns, two laborers die
Karkala: Two laborers died after a lorry loaded with stones overturned near the laterite stone quarry near Nitte in Karkala on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Kariyappa (26) and Nariappa (27), residents of Yalaburgi Devalapur in Koppal district.
The incident occurred while a lorry was loading stones near Karkala Nitte Brahmari Cross. According to the police, the lorry was moving on a sloped road next to the quarry when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn. The laborers were trapped under the lorry and died at the spot.
Karkala DySP Arvinda Kalagujji and Karkala rural police visited the site to conduct an investigation. A case has been registered in this regard at the Karkala Rural Police Station.
