Bengaluru, September 14: KPCC President Dinesh Gundu Rao made a strong allegation that Rajya Sabha Member Prabhakar Kore, BJP state president B.S Yeddyurappa and former DCM K.S Eshwarappa were the main ‘Kingpins’ behind the conspiracy of toppling the Congress-JDS coalition government in the state.
Speaking to reporters at the KPCC office here on Friday, Dinesh Gundu Rao said that hunger for power was so much that the BJP leaders have been following the unethical path to topple the stable government in the state.
Though the BJP did not get clear mandate in the last Assembly election despite being the single largest party, it had tried to form the government and failed. The people of the state have been watching the efforts of the BJP. Now, the BJP leaders have been trying to topple the coalition government unethically, he said.
Many BJP leaders including Yeddyurappa, Dr CN Ashwath Narayan, Sathish Reddy and former minister C.P Yogeshwar have been trying to destabilize the government. Congress MLAs C.S Shivalli, B.C Patil, Anil Kumar, V Muniyappa and others were being lured with crores of rupees. A meeting led by Yelahanka MLA S.R Vishwanath was being held on purchasing the MLAs, he alleged.
Using some financiers, the BJP leaders have been trying to spend money to purchase the MLAs. So, the Congress has already lodged a complaint with the Income Tax department to conduct an enquiry against those financiers and the BJP MLAs who have been luring the MLAs of other parties, he said.
It’ll be an insult to BSY
The Congress party MLAs were united. Let them succeed in getting the resignation of the Congress MLAs. They could not purchase the MLAs even they spent thousands of crores. It was sure that Yeddyurappa would once again suffer a humiliation in this effort, he said.
In fact, some leaders in the BJP were opposing the move of Yeddyurappa for Operation Lotus. But Yeddyurappa and his team have been trying to topple the government by any means. Such a low level politics would not succeed, he said.
“Rs 50-100 crore is not a small amount. We don’t have any fear about BJP. Some leaders who oppose Operation Lotus will join hands with us. So, Yeddyurappa’s efforts will not have any impact on the government. We will give a complaint to the ACB. Truth will come out if the investigation is conducted”, the KPCC president said.

New Delhi (PTI): The Congress on Wednesday expressed deep concern over the "atmosphere of insecurity" being faced by religious minorities in Bangladesh and the arrest of Hindu leader Chinmoy Krishna Das.
In a statement, Chairman of the party's Media and Publicity Department Pawan Khera said, "The Indian National Congress expects the government of India to prevail upon the Bangladesh government to take necessary steps and ensure security of life and property of minorities in the country".
"The Indian National Congress expresses its deep concern at the atmosphere of insecurity being faced by religious minorities in Bangladesh. The arrest of the ISCKON monk is the latest example," he said.
A lawyer was killed on Tuesday during clashes between security personnel and followers of Das, who was denied bail and sent to jail by a court in the port city of Chattogram in Bangladesh in a sedition case.
Das, the spokesperson for Bangladesh Sammilita Sanatani Jagran Jote, was arrested from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka a day earlier.
India on Tuesday noted with "deep concern" the arrest and denial of bail to the Hindu leader, and urged authorities in the neighbouring country to ensure the safety and security of Hindus and all other minority groups.
Bangladesh reacted sharply to the Ministry of External Affairs statement, saying it was unfounded and stood contrary to the spirit of friendship between the two countries.
In its statement, Dhaka said it does not interfere with the country's judiciary, which is fully independent
