CBI cannot suppress Devegowda family: HDK tells BSY
Belthangady: Former CM HD Kumaraswamy on Sunday added that he was ready to face probe by any agency in the phone tapping allegations on him while adding that no investigating agency can suppress the Devegowda family.
Reacting strongly to the CM Yediyurappa’s move to order CBI probe into the phone tapping allegations on HDK government, the former CM added that it was an attempt to tarnish his image. “No media, government or agency can tarnish my image nor they can suppress the Devegowda family” HDK said in Belthangady where he was meeting the flood victims on Sunday.
Adding that during the previous tenure of Yediyurappa the UPA Government at the centre had granted flood relief funds of Rs. 1000 crore HDK questioned Yediyurappa why he was unable to get help from the centre even when his own party was in power.
He also urged Yediyurappa to reconsider the relief amount of Rs. 5 lakh to the victims for construction of houses as it would require at least Rs. 10-12 lakh for them.
Kumaraswamy visited Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala to pray for the flood affected people and seek Manjunatha Swamy's blessings before visiting Belthangadi. He offered special prayers at the temple.

Four dead as motorbike falls off bridge in MP's Mandla
Mandla (MP) (PTI): Four men died after their motorcycle plunged off a dilapidated bridge in Madhya Pradesh's Mandla district, police said on Sunday.
The accident occurred near Bhainswahi village at around 8 pm on Saturday, Bijadandi Police Station House Officer (SHO) Anita Kudape said.
The four men were travelling from Paudi to Bhainswahi village when their motorcycle hit a pothole on the bridge. The rider lost control, and the two-wheeler plunged below, she said.
All four sustained serious injuries and later died, the official said.
The deceased have been identified as Pramod Kumar Nareti (24), Santalal Uikey (23), Shivam Yadav (25) and Gangaram (22), the official said.
The police registered a case and were investigating the incident.
