Bengaluru: In a unique manner, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah quoted lines from a poem by B.M. Basheer, poet and News Editor of Vartha Bharati before the State Legislature on Friday.
Siddaramaiah, who was presenting the state budget for the current year, recited Basheer’s poem before announcing new initiatives on women and child development:
“Mother likes roses
For she knows
How difficult it is
To bloom among thorns”.

Trump appears to rule out talks with Iran absent its 'unconditional surrender'
Dubai (AP): US President Donald Trump appeared to rule out negotiations with Iran to end the conflict in the Middle East.
He said in a social media post Friday that there will be no deal absent “unconditional surrender” from Tehran.
“After that, and the selection of a GREAT & ACCEPTABLE Leader(s), we, and many of our wonderful and very brave allies and partners, will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction, making it economically bigger, better, and stronger than ever before,” Trump said.
