Bengaluru: The spate of resignations of the ruling coalition government continued on Tuesday as senior Congress leader and Shivaji Nagar MLA Roshan Baig resigned from the assembly.
Baig met speaker Ramesh Kumar on Tuesday afternoon and submitted his resignation.
With this the total number of MLAs who have submitted their resignations from the assembly has gone up to 14.
Baig after meeting speaker on Tuesday confirmed his resignation and added that he has submitted his resignation from the assembly.
Baig was earlier suspended from Congress for his ‘anti-party activities’.
Meanwhile, speaker Ramesh Kumar has refused to accept the resignation of other MLAs and added that he cannot accept resignations without meeting the MLAs in person.
Earlier in the day speaking to media, Baig had indicated his decision to quit as the legislator and said that he was hurt by the way his party had treated and suspended him
