Bengaluru: Former Indian Cricket Team Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh on Monday reacted to the viral video from Bengaluru of officials beating a young man forcing him to get tested for COVID-19.

In the video, reportedly from Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru, officials of BBMP are seen beating a young man on the streets, forcing him to get tested for COVID while the young man is trying to resist saying he doesn’t have any symptoms of the virus.

The video went viral across social media platforms receiving wide criticism from the users. Several activists, journalists took to their handles to condemn the event.

Harbhajan Singh also took to his Twitter account and expressed anguish over the incident calling it shameful. He also questioned why the person in the video was being beaten to get tested.

“Is this how we gonna win against the VIRUS?? So wrong” the seasoned cricketer added in the tweet.

Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District Madrasa Association will organise a Qur'an competition and prize distribution programme on January 24 at 4:30 PM at Unity Hall in Kallapu, Mangaluru.
