Bengaluru, June 17: Union Minister Ananth Kumar Hegde said that the leftist intellectuals, who have made their foolishness as their capital and kept their intellect for sale, should be controlled in the country.
Releasing a book ‘Hindutva’, a translated version of Veera Savarkar book into Kannada and published by Samrudha Sahitya at Suchitra Film Society here on Sunday, Hegde said that the intellectuals have been trying to tarnish the image of Hindutva. The intellectuals are good to see when they apply paint or wear mask. Once their mask is removed, they could not be seen. They have sold themselves to the foreign money and trying to defame the Hindutva, he said.
Hindus were not migrants. They were born in the same land. Hindu culture and Hindutva was one of the best lifestyle in the world. So, intellectuals need not raise hue and cry about this. Those intellectuals who do not know anything about this culture and history speak as they want, he said.
Today’s Ph.D is copy and paste
Hegde said that today’s Ph.D is just copy and paste process. But Savarkar did not do that. It should be taken to the people. Unfortunately, the intellectuals who are sleeping with their own intelligence should know about this. This book is the need of the hour, he said.
Hindu means insult!
“Christian can call themselves as Christians. Muslims can say Muslims. Shouldn’t we call ourselves as Hindus? Intellectuals feel happy to call themselves as secular. But when we call ourselves as Hindus, they say that we are insulting the Constitution”, he said.
Write as you like it
Media people might write that Hegde does not know pronunciation. They highlight that issue tomorrow. Moreover, they may say that Hegde pronounced ‘capacity’ as ‘capatity’. It is their ‘capatity’ to write in their style. Let them write whatever they want, he ridiculed.
Let media criticize
“My words may not reach all the audience in the hall. But those words will come in the media. If media praise me, people ask ‘have you adjusted with the media. So, let the media continue to criticize me”, he said.
Columnist Rohith Chakrathirtha, poet MN Vyasa Rao, writer GB Harish and others were present.
I won’t yield to threat
“I am from the Vishakantha cult. Media should report criticizing me. I will consider it as adoration. I am a Hindu and I won’t surrender to any threats. I am not the son of cowards to stop speaking like this”.
