Mandya: BJP worker Ravi, also known as Bullet Ravi, from Danayakanapur, was arrested late on Monday night by Mandya West Station police for allegedly shouting 'Pakistan Zindabad' during a protest held on December 18, 2022.
The police will present the accused before the court after conducting a medical examination on Tuesday.
The BJP had organized a protest against derogatory remarks made by the Pakistani foreign minister. While BJP workers were shouting slogans like 'Pakistan Murdabad' and 'Hindustan Zindabad', Ravi allegedly shouted 'Pakistan Zindabad'.
A year and a half later, Congress leader Kannambadi Kumar filed a complaint against the BJP workers at West Mandya Police Station. Based on this complaint, the police registered an FIR against BJP workers Ravi and Shivkumar Aradhya. Ravi has now been arrested.

Mumbai, Nov 23: Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole survived a scare from his nearest BJP rival in the Sakoli assembly constituency but managed to win the tight contest by a narrow margin of 208 votes.
Patole, the incumbent Congress MLA from Sakoli, polled 96,795 votes, while his challenger from BJP, Avinash Brahmankar, came tantalisingly close to bagging 96,587 votes.
Independent nominee Somadatta Karanjekar was a distant third, bagging 18,309 votes.
While Patole managed to save the face with the thin margin, the Congress unit led by him and the Maha Vikas Aghadi were routed by the BJP-led Mahayuti in the one-sided contest.
