Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on Saturday cleared that the Government was not going to cancel any people-friendly schemes to compensate funds for flood relief in the state.

Yediyurappa confirmed that no such proposal was made to government to cancel or alter people-friendly schemes introduced by previous governments.

"Our government is a people-friendly government. The government has already signed the file for the release of funds for continuing Annabhagya scheme," Yediyurappa said.

The CM's clarification comes after warnings by senior Congress leaders like Dinesh Gundu Rao and Siddaramaiah against any such move to cancel, alter people-friendly schemes introduced by their government.

Reports were making rounds that some of the schemes were set to be cancelled by Yediyurappa to compensate the flood relief and rehabilitation work in the state.
