Bengaluru: Well-known critic Dr. Sumatheendra Nadig (83) passed away at 6: 25 in Bengaluru today morning. Three days ago, he was admitted to the Fortis Hospital in Bannerghatta Road in Bengaluru, due to age-related ailments.
It has been reported that Nadig's body will be kept for public viewing at Maya Indraprastha Apartment on Kanakapura Road.
Sumatheendra Nadig was born in Kalasa in Chikmagalur district. Father Raghavendra and mother Subbamma. A professor by profession, Dr. Nadig was also a poet, critic, novelist, and writer.
The deceased is survived by his wife, two daughters, a son, and a large number of relatives and friends.
His important works include ‘Nimma Prema Kumariya Jataka’, Kappu Devathe’, ‘Daampatya Geeta’ and ‘Panchabhoota’, collection of verses, besides critical works on Da.Ra. Bendre and Gopalakrishna Adiga.

Bahrain: Dr. Arathi Krishna, Vice President of the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) Forum, Government of Karnataka, participated as the Guest of Honour at the prestigious Global Women’s Economic Forum and Exhibition held on January 13, 2025 in Bahrain.
