Bengaluru: Retired Justice A J Sadashiva on Sunday asserted that the writings of noted Kannada Writer, Poet and Journalist P Lankesh had the power to make or break the government.

Speaking at the launch of P Lankesh’s biography at National College’s H. N Auditorium by Pallava Prakashaba and Janshakti Kendra, Sadashiva noted that P Lankesh was a fearless writer and his writing reflected his idea of right and wrong.

“He was a fearless writer, he started his own publication as a revolt against Prajavani when they stopped his colomn. He would never bend before anyone. His writing was always powerful and reflected his idea of what is right and what is wrong” Justice Sadashiva noted.

Shudra Srinivas, the author of Lankesh’s biography spoke about Lankesh and recalled their conversation. He noted that when he wrote an article on Late. Gopal Gowda, Lankesh had asked him to write a similar article on him which he regretted not writing when Lankesh was alive.

“I am relieved now that I have penned his biography” Srinivas said.

Vaddegere Chinnaswamy recalled how Lankesh's writings formed his thoughts and how he was successful in expressing the secular ideas even in the outskirts.

Former minister Prof. BK Chandrashekar said that the book 'Lankesh Mohaka Rupakagala Naduve' reveals minute parts of Lankesh's life. He further stressed on the need of translating Lankesh's writings to English. "This book is a must read for all the Kannadigas" he said.
