Pertrol, diesel price cut by Rs. 2 in Karnataka: CM Kumaraswamy announces
Kalburgi: Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has announced that petrol and diesel prices will be cut by Rs. 2 per liter in the state by reducing the taxes.
The Chief Minister, who visited Kalburgi for the first time after becoming the chief minister, announced the tax deduction during the Hyderabad-Karnataka Liberation Day programme at police parade grounds here.

Fisheries development board employee dies in bike-jeep collision in Sullia
Sullia: A 52-year-old employee of the Karnataka Fisheries Development Corporation (KFDC), Vinayak Murthy, who was grievously injured after his motorbike collided with a jeep in Ajjavara, died on the way to a hospital.
Murthy is survived by his wife Manjula, a son and a daughter.
He was returning home on his motorbike, with his wife Manjula riding pillion, after the day's work at the KFDC Ajjavara Padambailu office when his bike collided with a jeep.

Finding Murthy seriously injured as an impact of the collision, an ambulance was called immediately, but the rider reportedly died before they reached the hospital. Manjula is being treated at a hospital in Mangaluru.
Sullia Police have registered a case and are investigating.
