Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Jagadish Shettar on Wednesday publicly stated that he will not join the cabinet of ministers of new CM Basavaraj Bommai.
Shettar made it clear that some MLAs in the party are trying to get ministerial berth in the new cabinet but he is not one of them. He said he was not willing to join the cabinet.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday he added that it was his personal decision. He said as he has already served as the CM of the state, he does not want to be part of the cabinet as minister.
“I have served as Party’s state president, minister, and CM. I have held responsible position and have worked. It is time that we give opportunities to the young leaders, I would advice the party leadership too to give chances to young leaders” he told reporters.
Speaking about the viral audio clip of Party’s state president Nalin Kumar Kateel, Shettar said his decision had nothing to do with the viral clip and that it was his personal decision.

Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed condolences over a tragic road accident in Yellapur taluk, Uttara Kannada district, which claimed 10 lives.
PM Modi announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh from the PMNRF for the families of each deceased and ₹50,000 for the injured. He said, “Deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the accident in Uttara Kannada district. Condolences to the bereaved families, and prayers for the injured.”
Amit Shah also conveyed his grief, stating, “Deeply saddened by the tragic road accident at Yellapur in Uttara Kannada. My sincerest condolences to the families and prayers for the injured.”
The accident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday when a lofty carrying vegetables overturned near Arebail Ghat in Yellapur taluk.
