Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and 40 other leaders will vote in the party president's election at a Bharat Jodo Yatra campsite in Karnataka's Bellary on October 17.

The National Education Policy, 2020 (NEP-2020), has proposed the National Accreditation Council (NAC) as a meta-accrediting body. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has already appointed a committee to bring synergy between NAAC, the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), and the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) to propose a common framework and a road map for NAC. 

Faced by 40 per cent commission charge against his government, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday hit back at the Congress for 'maladministration' when it was in power between 2013 and 2018 and alleged that there were instances of "100 per cent corruption" then.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday said there was no intention of making Hindi alone the national language and threaten the identity of regional languages like Kannada. The members of the All India Central Council of Trade Unions and mining workers will hold a protest rally in October, demanding rehabilitation of the Ballari mining workers.

The reservation for scheduled castes will be hiked from 15 per cent to 17 per cent, while scheduled tribes will have reservation of 7 per cent instead of the present 3 per cent, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said.
