Campaign to collect "sacred" mud and water from K'taka ahead of unveiling of Kempegowda statue

Bengaluru: Ahead of the grand unveiling of 108-feet-tall bronze statue of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda, the founder of Bengaluru city, at the International Airport here, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday launched a unique campaign of collecting the "sacred" mud and water from all the villages of the state.

 


Not involved in conspiracy against seer, says Murugha Math's Administrative Officer

Chitradurga: Accused by some of his role in two high school girls levelling sexual abuse charges against Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru of Murugha Math, the seminary's administrative officer S K Basavarajan on Thursday said he was not involved in any conspiracy against the pontiff and he has done his duty by trying to protect the children.

Advocates seek probe into Murugha math seer's case under HC supervision

Bengaluru: A group of advocates has written to the Registrar General of the Karnataka High Court claiming that the investigation against Shivamurhty Murugha swamy of the Murugha Mutt in Chitradurga, who is facing charges of sexual abuse on minor girls, "is not being carried out in an unbiased, free and fair manner."
