Bengaluru: Two South Africans test positive for COVID-19 as threat of new variant looms

Bengaluru: Amid fears of the spread of new Covid strain 'Omicron' looming large, two South African nationals have tested positive for the coronavirus, and their samples have been sent for further tests to ascertain about the variant, a top official said on Saturday.

 


Karnataka Congress demands inquiry by SC Judge or House panel into graft charges by contractors

Bengaluru: With the number of COVID-19 infections at Dharwad's Medical College reaching 281 and new clusters emerging in Bengaluru amid the threats of new variant 'Omicron', Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday hinted at putting in place certain precautionary measures to control the spread of virus.
