Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy expressed deep condolences for the death of former union minister CK Jaffer Sharief.

The Defence Ministry has given green signal to transport the body of former minister and actor Ambareesh by helicopter to Mandya for public view.

Depressed over the death of Rebel Star Ambareesh, one of his fans is said to have committed suicide under a running train at Maddur today morning.

The cremation of the mortal remains of former minister and actor Ambareesh would be conducted beside the memorial of Dr RajKumar at Kanteerava Stadium in the city. On the lines of Dr Rajkumar memorial, the government would develop the memorial for Ambareesh, for which the government would seek the cooperation of the people, said Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy.

Veteran politician and former union minister CK Jaffer Sharief (85) passed away after a brief illness here on Sunday afternoon.

Following three-day mourning across the state in view of the death of actor Ambareesh, all government programmes in the district were postponed.

In view of the demise of senior actor-turned politician Ambareesh, deputy commissioner N Manjushri imposed prohibitory order across the district from November 25, 6 am to November 26, 6 am in order to maintain law and order situation in the district.

Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy Saturday said the body of veteran Kannada actor and Congress leader M H Ambareesh will be kept at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium here Sunday for people to pay their last respects.
