Gauri murder case: Seventh accused arrested from Sullia

Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrested a resident of Sullia taluk’s Sampaje in D.K district in the murder case of senior journalist Gauri Lankesh.

Shira: 3, including couple, killed in road accident

Three persons, including a couple, were killed on the spot in a horrific road accident between a truck and a canter in Shira on Friday morning.

The deceased have been identified as residents of Karur village in Ranebennur Hanumantharaju (40), his wife Radha (35) and KR Nagar resident Canter driver Lokesh (34).

Car rammed into divider: RTO inspector dies

An RTO inspector killed on the spot when the car he was travelling in collided with a roadside divider near Tavarekere in Shira Taluk here today morning.

The deceased has been identified as RTO Inspector Devaraju (50) of Chitradurga. The accident occurred when the car driver lost control over the vehicle and crashed into a divider. The inspector was reportedly returning from Shira this morning.

Rs 100 cr compensation to Kodagu in first phase: CM

A 10th standard girl student committed suicide by hanging herself in the classroom during school hours at Chaitanya Vidyaniketan High School at Kodimaranahalli in KR Pete taluk on Thursday.
