Dalits in Karnataka village face boycott over POCSO complaint against upper caste youth

Dalit families of a village in Yadgir district are allegedly facing social boycott after a person from the community lodged a POCSO complaint against an 'upper caste' youth, police said on Saturday.

 


Minor siblings traveling without ticket handed over to child welfare committee in Udupi

Two minor siblings were caught by a ticket inspector at the Indrali railway station, Udupi, on Friday for traveling without a ticket in a compartment reserved for the disabled. The children, a boy and a girl, were handed over to Railway Protection Force (RPF) officer Sudhir Shetty by Travel Ticket Scrutiny Officer K. Vasudev Pai for legal proceedings.
