The Additional Director General of Police (Traffic and Road Safety), Alok Kumar, has reported a disturbing figure of 5,830 fatalities due to accidents in the state over the last six months. He further revealed that the highest number of these accident-related deaths occurred in Bangalore City.

An FIR has been filed against Manikantha Rathod, a prominent BJP leader, and four others by Madaboola Police for their alleged involvement in threatening sand tipper drivers. The incident occurred on Saturday when Abdul Hafiz and Abdul Rashid, both residents of Ranjola in Sedam taluk, were transporting sand with official permission.
