K'taka Congress MLA accepts threatening to quit citing 'self-respect' at CLP meeting

Kalaburagi (K'taka), July 30: Senior MLA B R Patil on Sunday admitted that he threatened to resign during the recent Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting, citing "self-respect", but said he did not apologise for writing a letter to Karnataka Chief Minister highlighting his concerns.

Four women drown after car falls into canal in Karnataka's Mandya

Four women drowned after the car they were travelling in fell into Visvesvaraya Canal in Mandya district of Karnataka, police said on Sunday. Karnataka Governor arrives late at airport, misses flight to Hyderabad

In an unusual turn of events, Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot missed his scheduled flight to Hyderabad from the Kempegowda International Airport, Devanahalli, in Bengaluru on Thursday. Governor Gehlot had booked a ticket for the 2 pm Air Asia flight but failed to reach the airport on time, resulting in the flight departing without him. Instead, he had to board the 3:30 pm Air Asia flight to reach his destination.
