BJP names Kota Shrinivas Poojari as Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council

The Karnataka BJP on Monday announced the appointment of senior party MLC and former Minister Kota Shrinivas Poojari as the Leader of Opposition in the state Legislative Council, and MLA Arvind Bellad as Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly.


One dead, 70 hospitalised due to alleged food poisoning in Hoskote

A woman died and 70 others were hospitalised in a suspected case of food poisoning in Hoskote in Bengaluru Rural limits, police said on Monday.
Police said they suspect the cause of food poisoning to be an edible offering at a place of worship in the area.
