Photo-messaging app Snapchat has reportedly been crashing down on some Android devices for the past couple of days, the media reported.

Twitter has announced it will remove locked accounts -- which are disabled owing to suspicious activity -- from follower counts across profiles globally in the coming days resulting in some users seeing a drop in their base of followers.

UK's data protection watchdog plans to slap a fine of 500,000 pounds ($662,501) on Facebook over the Cambridge Analytica data leak scandal. This is the highest permitted fine under Britain's data protection law.

Days after being reprimanded by the Indian government over the spread of misinformation leading to several lynching deaths across the country, Facebook-owned messaging platform WhatsApp has come up with tips for users to avoid false information. 

Facebook is testing a feature that will identify malicious accounts sending unwanted direct messages to you on its Messenger platform.

According to a report in Motherboard on Wednesday, the feature when it goes live will provide additional information about direct messages from unknown contacts.

Facebook discontinued last year a small helicopter drone project that could temporarily replace cellular services in emergency situations, The Verge reported.

 While confirming a The Washington Post report that Twitter has been suspending as much as one million questionable accounts per day in recent months, the microblogging site refuted the claim that the move will lead to decline in the numbers of monthly active users.

Despite the massive Cambridge Analytica data scandal and a couple of users' privacy issues owing to internal bugs, Facebook stock closed at an all-time record high of $203.23 on Friday.
