Ahmedabad, May 25 (PTI): True to his inimitable style, Mahendra Singh Dhoni kept the world guessing on his IPL future, saying he will now enjoy his bike rides in Ranchi and will take his own sweet time to decide whether he will come back next season.

Chennai Super Kings' ordinary season gave fodder to speculations that the side may go in for a complete overhaul in the coming season and the iconic Dhoni will not be around even as a batter.

"It depends. I have 4-5 months to decide, there's no hurry. Need to keep my body fit. You have to be at your best," Dhoni said after CSK's huge 83-run win over Gujarat Titans.

The 43-year-old dropped himself in the batting order, getting to hit only a few balls and could not make the desired impact this season.

So, a question about his future was inevitable after the team's last league game here. Dhoni said lack of performance can never be his reason for taking the retirement decision.

"If cricketers start retiring for their performance, some of them will retire at 22. I will go back to Ranchi, enjoy a few bike rides. I am not saying I am done, not saying I am coming back. I have the luxury of timing. Will think about it and then decide," he said.

Dhoni hoped that CSK would have a good season next year when Ruturaj Gaikwad returns from his injury and joked that only his skipper's age makes him look old.

"Ruturaj doesn't need to worry about too many things next season. He will fit into one of those roles. You feel old. He is exactly 25 years younger than me, that makes me feel I am old," he said.

Talking about the forgettable 2025 IPL season, Dhoni admitted that batting let them down.

"We didn't have a good season, it was one of those perfect performances (vs GT). We haven't caught very well, but the catching was good today. When we started the season, the four games were in Chennai. We decided to bat second, but I felt the wicket was good for batting in the first innings.

"I was worried about the batting department. We can put runs on the board, but a few holes to fill."

GT skipper Shubman Gill, who has been given the reins of India's Test side, said they lost the game in the power play, losing three wickets.

"We never really came back. Chasing 230 is always a tricky target. Teams already eliminated have nothing to lose and they come out all guns blazing. We weren't able to stay calm under pressure and I think we gave in to pressure.

"It's very important to control runs in the middle overs. If you are not going to do that it's going to be challenging. That's where we were lacking in the last two games."

Talking about the mood in the dressing room, Gill said it will be hard to digest a defeat.

"This one would be a hard pill to swallow for us. The bright side is that we have two or three games left so boys will be motivated to play in Mohali.

"Fortunately for me, going back to my hometown... I played a lot of cricket there and it's going to be really exciting," he said.

New Delhi (PTI): Three members of a family were found dead inside their home in southeast Delhi's Kalkaji on Friday, with police suspecting it to be a case of suicide, officials said.

Police said the incident came to light around 2.47 pm when a police team reached the premises to execute a court order related to possession of the property. When repeated knocks went unanswered, the staff used a duplicate key to open the door.

Inside, officers found Anuradha Kapoor (52) and her sons, Ashish Kapoor (32) and Chaitanya Kapoor (27), hanging from the ceiling, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Hemant Tiwari said in a statement. All three were declared dead.

A handwritten note was recovered from the room, suggesting the family had been struggling with depression.

"The handwritten note indicates emotional distress faced by the family due to which the family may have taken the extreme step," the officer said.

The bodies have been shifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) mortuary for post-mortem and other legal formalities under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), police said.

Residents of the neighbourhood said they were shocked to learn about the deaths, adding that the family kept largely to themselves.

Pankaj Kashyap, a resident of Girinagar, said he learnt about the deaths while leaving for work. "I live and work here and was leaving for work when I saw many people standing outside and talking. That is how I got to know that three people had committed suicide. I also saw several police vehicles outside, but I do not know much beyond that," he said.

Baldev, another neighbour, said the family had been living in the newly constructed house for around two years. "We only knew that a mother and her two children lived there. They had moved into the newly built house around two years ago. We did not interact much with them. Today we heard that all three have committed suicide, and whatever we know is based on what people here are saying," he said.

Another neighbour, Ramesh Kumar, claimed the family had earlier attempted suicide.

"About fifteen to twenty days ago, the two sons in the family had attempted suicide and police and ambulances had come. That was when I first got to know who they were. I do not recognise them by face, but we saw the ambulances and police take the two sons that day. Today again we saw ambulances and police arriving, so everyone came out to see what had happened. I do not know how long they had been living here, but this is all we know," he said.

Police said they are examining the family's financial condition, social circumstances, and other factors that may have contributed to the incident. Further investigation is underway.
