Chikkamagaluru: In an incident reported on Saturday, a 60-year-old man lost his life after being trampled by a wild elephant in the village of Kanchukal, located within the jurisdiction of the Aldur Division of the Forest Department, Arenoor village, Chikkamagaluru.

 Commuters in Bengaluru are likely to face a day without cabs, autos and private buses, as the Federation of Karnataka State Private Transport Associations has called a strike in the city on September 11, in protest of not fulfilling their demands by the state government.

A tragic accident occurred on National Highway 66 at Talur near Karwar on Saturday night, resulting in the loss of a 32-year-old man's life while seriously injuring his pillon rider friend. The unfortunate incident unfolded when the two friends were riding a motorcycle and had to swerve suddenly to avoid colliding with a wild animal that unexpectedly appeared on the road.

A gruesome incident unfolded in Chikodi town, where a retired 45-year-old soldier, Eeranagowda Topagola, met a tragic end on Saturday. He was allegedly murdered by his brother-in-law, Sanjay, who reportedly slit his throat. The police suspect that the heinous crime may have been driven by suspicions of an illicit relationship between Topagola and Sanjay's wife.

 In a tragic incident, the family of a 10-year-old boy who underwent appendicitis surgery at a private hospital in Kollegal, Chamarajnagar, has accused the medical staff of negligence, leading to the boy's death. 

Addressing rumors and ending speculation about his exit from the Janata dal Secular JD(S), former MLA C.S. Puttaraju clarified on Saturday that he remains committed to the party and also emphasized that he is actively carrying out responsibilities in the JD(S). “I have told our party workers not to believe in such rumors,” he added.
